Routine check-ups

Regular check-ups will help us keep an eye on your oral health and spot any problems early. We will be looking for signs of decay, infection, oral cancer and a misaligned bite. If we find anything that requires treatment, we will advise the best course of action and put together a treatment plan, including expected costs.

During a routine appointment, we will:

  • Examine and assess your teeth, gums and mouth.
  • Ask if you’ve had any problems since your last visit.
  • Advise you on the best cleaning techniques.
  • Share tips on diet, tobacco and alcohol consumption.

Even if you don’t have any clear issues with your teeth and gums, seeing a dentist is really important. Sometimes, problems like gum disease don’t have obvious symptoms and only a dentist can spot the signs. X-rays can also reveal if there are any cavities or problems with the internal structure of your teeth.

We may not need to see you every six months, but your dentists will let you know when you need to come back for your next check-up.
